Do these people know how ridiculous they sound?
Ah, good old democracy. Nobody said it was smart. But I'll repeat: we may not have direct statistics on the reasoning abilities of the two parties. But we do have a large body of data on the measureable reasoning ability of the different ethnicities (though it is largely suppressed by all mainstream information channels) and also data on which ethnic groups vote for which party and so it is nearly an incontrovertable fact that Republicans have greater measureable reasoning abilities (are smarter) than Democrats. But I guess as a parallel statement one could also state that Democrats tend to be better athletes because of the large body of evidentiary data in this measureable field of endeavor.
trey,
Perhaps I am misunderstanding you due to your lack of posted evidence to support your claims, but for someone who is always claiming that I am an elitist your comments of supposed racial and ethnic superiority are quite intriguing.
(Sorry about the lack of timeliness of this response, but I've been very busy) In your mission statement you state you want to have 'open debate' on this site and the general tenor seems to confirm you want to avoid the general debate obstructionism often seen in the normal channels of politics, but when the fancy strikes you Chris it seems you sometimes wish to play dumb (a common obstructionist technique)when it serves your ideological purpose. You resort to asking me to '(post) evidence to support (my) claims' about I guess my claim that different ethnicities have differing demonstrated academic abilities. Must I also cite at least 10 scientific, fully funded surveys before I make statements such as Jessica Alba is a pretty woman or Tom Brady is generally thought of as a top-flight NFL quarterback? You seem like a pretty smart and well informed person, so is it OK for the sake of efficient debate for me to assume that you have heard stories on the news, etc. about the rash of inner city schools who are in academic emergency and other similar stories and that you could deduce from this info that generally some ethnicities are underperforming compared to others? (As I stated above, the cold hard facts about the extent of the differences in academic performance between ethnicities is almost completely supressed but I think anyone with good deduction skills (like you seem to have) could have some inclination of this from listening to the news). So, I still think for the sake of consistency, you folks on the left should refrain from giving the appearance that you believe the right is somehow the dumb party (but to be fair, your site is not terribly guilty in this regard and the interviewer above for the most part keeps a straight face when doing his interviews but he does sometimes fall into some smirks here and there). If you are truly interested in the topic of group differences in academic prowess (which I've been looking closely at for a year or so---in my humble opinion, it is the second most significant political difficulty in our significantly wide-raging multi-cultural society that is growing more multi-cultural everyday. FYI: I regard Wall Street's ripping off of the people as the number one difficulty for a well-functioning democracy)I would suggest you google 'Gottfredson udel mainstream science' for a very old Wall Street Journal article that is in reply to criticism of the old controversial book 'The Bell Curve' in which this topic last became highly known. I suggest this article because it lays out the basic observed differences between ethnicities and establishes how mainstream these views are by getting a large body of the most respected researchers in the intelligence field to cosign the statement. (And it is my understanding that the evidence about group differences has only grown stronger during the 15 years since Gottfredson's article) And if you are interested in a very long article that charts out step by step the importance of intelligence in modern life, how groups appear to differ in it, and what are some of the significant difficulties that are likely to arise in a democracy with many differing groups like ours, google 'Gottfredson group differences' for a very interesting pdl. (Sorry I don't know how to hyperlink on this site.)
